ALUMNI HONOR SISTER THERESA MARY O.P.

Our last Reunion for the St. Helena School graduates of the 70's, 80's and 90's held on October 15, 2010 honored the last three Sparkill Dominican Sisters who were principals of St. Helena's school. Sister Patricia Ann Murtha O.P. and Sister Mary Grey O.P. were able to be with us on that evening and were honored with a plaque of recognition. Sister Theresa Mary McPartland O.P. was not able to be with us because of family obligations. Therefore "St. Helena's" went to Sister Theresa Mary ! On March 7, we presented Sister Theresa with her plaque of recognition at St. John Chrysostom School where she is now working in the School Office.

SPONSORSHIP PROGRAM

We are blessed each year to have some dedicated alumni and friends who are assisting some deserving children in our school. The sponsor offers to pay all or part of the tuition for a child whose family circumstances would otherwise prevent him or her from attending our school. The cost of tuition is becoming greater and greater and many families find it impossible to handle. Our Sponsorship Program helps these families to continue the Catholic education of their children. Some sponsors choose to have contact with the child; others choose to remain anonymous. In some cases, through the Matching Gift Program, a sponsor's contribution for tuition actually makes it possible for two children to continue in our school.

If you wish to become a sponsor, please indicate this on the enclosed envelope. Full sponsorship is $3200; partial is $1600. If you would like to discuss this program, please contact Mr. Richard Meller, Principal, at (718) 892-3234.    Your sponsorship truly makes a difference!
